Current News Event Take 2

Over the weekend, take a few minutes to watch or read the news! You will be posting a summary and statement of importance on your blog before class on Monday. The following items are required.
1. Type of media (newspaper, internet, television) - Tell me from where or which media you chose to get your information.
2. Name of source (El Paso Times, KVIA, CNN, MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal) - Which newspaper, what website, which station?
3. When - What day and time did you watch or read the news story?
4. Subject or Title - The title of the news article or news program. Stories should be related to Business, Economy, Politics, Education, Technology
5. Summary - Summarize the details in complete sentences.
6. Importance - How is the story important to you?

Stock Portfolio Spreadsheet Data & Formulas

Good morning and afternoon! Today you will be creating a spreadsheet which will be used to display information for a stock portfolio. The data is available in a table format as well as a sample of what the spreadsheet will look like on page EX89.

If you look closely you will see that the some of the text entered in row 3 appears different than the other rows. The text in row three is much longer than the data or numbers entered in the rows below. To get the text to appear on a new line in the same cell, press ALT + ENTER. This will automatically increase the height of the row to fit the multiple lines of text.

After you have entered all the data from the table, enter your name as the author and Silver Dollars Stock Club Portfolio Summary as the title in the document properties. Save your work as Silver Dollars Stock Club Portfolio Summary.

Formulas
The next step in developing the stock portfolio summary is to enter the formulas to calculate the following information:
Initial Cost
Current Value
Gain/Loss
Percent Gain/Loss

Using the column titles available in row 3 of your spreadsheet, describe how would you determine the Initial Cost, Current Value, Gain/Loss, and Percent Gain/Loss for a stock? After you have described how to determine the information provide the formulas that you would enter in cells F4, H4, I4, and J4. Please post your response as a new post on your blog.
